“Authentic and automated” is a phrase that gets thrown around a lot these days. But what does it mean? And why do you need your marketing to be both authentic and automated?
Authentic AND automated marketing–you need both.
They may seem incompatible. They aren’t! Let me tell you a story…and then we’ll go over why.
It’s January 2nd and the line to sign up at the gym is long.
January 8–and your favorite class is packed.
Now it’s January 17th and suddenly when you look around, the class isn’t so full anymore.
It’s January 29th and, well, it’s pretty much back to normal.
February 2nd arrives I don’t know if it’s busy because I’m not there today.
We all know this story. We can all visualize it at the gym.
What if, instead, the story went like this?
So there I was, at the gym on January 2nd. The line to sign up for a membership was long.
I looked over and saw someone struggling with their plank–those are always hard after the holidays, right? Poor girl! In any case, I ended up waiting in line next to her and we struck up a conversation.
Turns out whe lived close by too; it turned out that our schedules lined up so we agreed to work out together every day this month!
We were both feeling pretty good about getting back into things and even managed to both make one of those dreaded early-morning classes…
You can see the difference, yes?
In one version you commit to do something and lose steam. In another, with accountability and a system, you stick with it.
Unless you’re the skeeziest of marketers, I don’t need to sell you on the need to be authentic in your marketing.
But you might need a little explanation as to why it needs to be automated.
It’s all about stamina.

Even if you LOVE creating content–keeping up with the neverending beast is so.dang.hard! When you’re creating authentic content on the fly every day, you run out of juice. You burn out. You get tired and you stop creating.
Automating (at least part of) your marketing takes the pressure off.
